Meet Dr. Jodi Huntington PHD
Professional Profile
Dr. Huntington is a dually licensed as a psychologist/ clinical neuropsychologist and an occupational therapist with over 20 years of professional experience working with children and their families. Her private practice is located in Saddle River, NJ and she serves as the consulting neuropsychologist and occupational therapist at the Center for Autism at Montclair State University. Dr. Huntington specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental, learning, social, and emotional challenges as well as those with genetic and medical conditions. Her combination of clinical expertise in early childhood development and psychology/neuropsychology allows Dr. Huntington to take a comprehensive approach to complex presentations.
Dr. Huntington earned her masters degree in occupational therapy and her doctoral degree in psychology from Seton Hall University. Her clinical training was gained from renowned institutions including Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, Hassenfeld Children’s Cancer Center for Children at NYU, Hackensack University Medical Center Tomorrow’s Children, Kessler Rehabilitation Center, and Tufts Medical Center. In addition, she worked internationally with faculty of Boston Children’s Hospital to develop intervention for children with developmental disorders as well as to develop a preschool program for the advancement of literacy. Dr. Huntington has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in child development, neuroscience, and psychology.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Huntington has presented to many professional, teacher, and parent groups on the topics of literacy, learning disorders, executive functioning, ADHD, and management of visual and motor deficits in the classroom. She has worked with school districts to implement school wide trainings on implementing positive behavioral support systems, curriculum advancement, and trauma sensitive educational practices. Dr. Huntington is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge of how children learn. She is trained in Orton Gillingham as well as evidenced writing programs to assist in the implementation of remediation and academic services.
Dr. Huntington’s professional journey has been inspired by her passion for helping children actualize their potential by building of each child’s strengths while providing roadmap for intervention. She is the daughter and mother of amazing dyslexics which fuels her advocacy work and dedication to all children and family she serves.
